Datedate set after load - The illuminated fraction and the named phase come from SunCalc’s lunar ephemeris (truncated ELP-2000/82 series); the eight phase names cut at ±0.02 around the exact quarters. - The moon’s age in days multiplies the phase by the MEAN synodic month (29.53 days). True lunar months vary by around ±7 hours, so the age is labeled an estimate, the fraction is the exact number. - Moonrise and moonset are the earliest of each across your LOCAL day. The search spans both UTC days the local day touches, so far-from-Greenwich places are not cut at midnight. - The phase disc is a diagram (area = illuminated fraction, lit side by waxing/waning), not a render of the actual moon.
