The usual way A typical online converter 1. You upload the fileIt travels to a server you've never seen. 2. Their computer does the workYour file sits on their disk while it runs. 3. You download the resultA copy comes back. The original stays with them. 4. You trust them to delete itA promise you have no way to check. Our way Nutter Tools 1. Pick the toolIt opens working. No account wall. 2. Your device does the workYour browser does the job on your own computer or phone. 3. Save it and goMost tools keep working with the wi-fi off once loaded. 4. Nothing to deleteThe tool never sees the file. Nothing to leak, subpoena, or train a model on. The website is free. Properly free. No daily limit, no watermark, no "upgrade to download". Pay only if you want the apps, and they aren't out yet. What you're usingFree$0forever The whole web toolbox. - Every tool in the browser - No account, no email address - No daily limit or quota - Most tools work offline once loaded Start using it (/images) ProComing soon The desktop and mobile apps, one plan. - Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux - Runs with no internet - Do a whole folder in one go - One license, every device you own The apps are still in progress. The website is live now, with every tool free. The questions everybody asks So my files really aren't uploaded? For the file tools, yes. The converter runs inside the page: your file goes from disk into the browser's memory, through your own processor, and back out as a download. It never reaches a server. Which tools use the network? Five developer tools, and only when you press their button: DNS lookup, What Is My IP, RDAP lookup, HTTP timing, and the WebSocket tester. They send the web address you type in, never your files. Every other tool works without the internet once the page has loaded. The site itself loads Google Analytics to measure usage and performance, and there are no ads, but your files are still never sent anywhere. Do I have to sign up? No. Every tool works without an account, a quota, or an email address. There's nothing to verify and no newsletter waiting on the other side. How big a file can it handle? That depends on your computer. The work happens in your browser's memory, and batch jobs run one file at a time to stay comfortably inside it. Will it open HEIC images from my iPhone? Yes. HEIC is handled, along with camera RAW from most DSLRs: CR2, NEF, ARW and DNG. Drop one in and choose what you want out the other side. Does it work on a plane? Most tools do. Once a tool page has loaded, everything it needs is already in the page, so you can cut the connection and carry on working. The network tools above are the exception. What's the catch on "free"? There isn't one on the website. Your device does the computing, so the website costs almost nothing to run. The paid part is the desktop and mobile apps, and they're still being built.
